Why every time I cook minced meat it cooks as blocks of meat instead of the little minced meat pieces??? Why does that happen?? What am I doing wrong??? BlushSad

I bash it with a wooden spoon as it's browning. Once it falls apart in that stage, it doesn't stick together again.

I put a bit of oil in the pan first, heat it up then put the mince in and constantly break it up using two forks until it's brown, then drain any fat or water off before I add the rest of the stuff.

I attack it with wooden spatula whilst cooking, just continuously mash it. Also just on a medium heat, not too high. Then I drain the oil out after...and carry on

Think you're meant to brown it in small batches. I can never be arsed, so bash with spoon!

If you buy frozen mince it seems to separate better. And you just cook from frozen

I was watching man v food and the American way of cooking mince is to wait til it's cooked then mash it with a potato masher. I tried it whilst making a chilli and it worked a treat
