Slow cooker recommendations please - so much choice

Hi
I've never used a slow cooker and am looking to buy one but there are so many to choose from at a wide range of prices.
What sort of things should I consider? We are a family of 4 but I guess it wouldn't hurt to get a bigger one that makes more in case we have guests.
I am not a very confident cook but having looked at some slow cooker recipes it looks like it can be quite straightforward, even for me!

Any recommendations or tips gratefully appreciated.

Slow cookers are very simple so the only reason to go.for a more expensive one would be for extra functions like timers and things. Otherwise a supermarket basic would suffice.

Get the biggest you can store, it's easy to cook a small amount in a big pot, can't cook a large amount in a small pot.
Shops own brand is fine. Don't spend a fortune. I have a crockpot, it's heavy on its own never mind with food in it too.
If you are on Facebook there are some slow cooker groups. YouTube is brilliant for recipes and how it's supposed to look
Also most recipes can be adapted to slow cooking.
One of my faves is a mumsnet Vietnamese chicken curry.

Get a pressure king pro! Around £60 but you can cook literally everything in it in a fraction of the time it takes to slow cook. We had gammon in 30 mins today. Also does roast chicken in 30 mins! And mashed potato in 3 minutes.

I'd definitely recommend one like this that you can sear the meat in the actual slow cooker first. I regret not getting one & it saves on the washing up. I've tried not searing the meat but it always tastes so much better if you do.

I use a digital plug timer with my slow cooker so I can start it in the day and it finishes just as I get home, only a couple of quid on Amazon rather than paying extra for a built in one
