Boiling eggs in the kettle...?

I'm waiting for a replacement oven (I've got a small plug in one, which alas doesn't have a hob).

I've been googling using the kettle, apparently this works and the worst that can happen is that the egg might break, I'm still nervous about trying it.

Has anyone done this?

I don’t know but would guess that you need a consistent kind of temperature for the three or four mins. You wouldn’t get that with a kettle as it is heating up or cooling down. Do you have a microwave? If you have a scrambled egg might be better!
Or, just a thought, beat an egg or eggs up with a little milk and put in an ovenproof dish for a short time.
Hope your oven comes soon when you will really appreciate it. In fact it will surely be “eggscellent”.

What about coddled /baked eggs in the small oven?
Or something that you can make with hot water, like noodles?
Or try an egg and cheese dish, Sformata, that you can bake in the oven?

I used to do this all the time at uni and never had an eggsplosion in my kettle
