I totally forgot how nice something on toast is as a meal.

I'm in a bit of a rush tonight so thought I'd have toast, I then realised I had left over beef and mushroom stroganoff in the fridge, re heated and plonked on top of thick cut toasted whole meal bread. My word, nicest tea I have had in ages, could eat it again!

I'm now looking for new toast toppers ..... what's yours ?

Mushrooms and fried egg

Avocado with lime juice and finely chopped red chilli

Cheese on toast - finely chopped onion, grated cheese, grainy mustard and a splash of milk, white wine or beer

I’m slightly embarrassed to admit macaroni cheese on white toast is amazing.

Scrambled egg in toasted wholemeal pita with sliced tomatoes and plenty of rock salt, black pepper and balsamic. Simple but delicious

Mashed up baby tomato, not really enough for dinner but I like it, also nice with added avocado

Prawn cocktail on wholemeal is a favourite here, or those little individual breaded hot camemberts.

Just really good quality butter with sea salt, on hot whole meal or whole grain toast. Occasionally with a really thin smear of honey (don’t want to actually taste it, just the sweetness highlights the saltiness - or something)

Hummus with beetroot

Poached eggs, smoked salmon, thin slivers of red onion

Scrambled eggs and a fuckton of ketchup mixed with sriracha

Baked beans with Tabasco and Worcester sauce

Avocado, salt, chili flakes, lime juice

Tuna mayo

Leftover roast chicken with slices of avocado and lots of salt

Stilton. Omg. Stilton on hot wholewheat

Nutella + plastic cheese

My ds loves chilli on toast with a little crime fraiche.
I absolutely love a cottage pie sandwich.warburtons bread (in the orange pack) with plenty of kerrygold butter, and a good helping of cottage pie with a cheese top, wedged between two slices.
It’s the food of gods.
