What Slow Cooker Should I Buy

My SC has given 14 years of fab service but has now given up the ghost. So need to buy a new one and would love your advice:
Think I want 6.5L (we are family of 5 and I like cooking extra and freezing).
I would like the ability to do HIGH and LOW cooking (current one only has one setting - LOW)
Would like to be able to brown meat on the hob in it.

What are your recommendations?
Thank you Smile

Instant Pot (once back in stock in Feb). Slow cooker but also pressure cooker, rice cooker, yoghurt maker etc. Comes in 6l or 8l.

I have just bought a Morphy Richards Sear and Stew Slow cooker. it is 6.5 litres and huge. I'm a bit worried that it is too big! It is bright red in colour.
I got it through eBay from Morphy Richards and it was £24.
The metal cooking pot can be used on the hob to brown meat etc prior to slow cooking. My friend has a similar one and thinks that it is great.
I'm trying it out tomorrow....I'll let you know how it goes.

Thank you both. The Instant Pot is out of my ££ bracket, but the Morphy Richards one looks good - thank you. I'll go do some investigating.

Well! I made a brilliant stew. It was very tasty. I used 750g of beef and loads of veg and the pot was still only half full. Next time I'm going to double the ingredients and put the leftovers in the freezer for another day.
So...I can recommend the Morphy Richards.

Andrew James ceramic slow cooker. It hasn't let me down. Two years running now and I use it about 4-5 times a week.

I've got the red morphy Richards one too - just got it off eBay to replace my old one. It's fab. Great for coming while leg of lamb/whole chicken/big batch of chilli or bolognaise etc.
