Freezing lamb before cooking or after?

Bought lamb shanks in preparation for a curry with friends this evening.
They have now cancelled.
The lamb shanks have been marinating since yesterday evening.

Would it be best to continue with recipe and freeze after slow cooking or freeze now after the marinating stage??
