Christmas Bites

Well it is almost here, Christmas that is

Every Christmas morning: the nephew and nieces, their children, brother and sister and their loved ones assend on my Home. It’s the place where presents are exchanged and all the children show off what Santa brought

But for me I host the eats, nibbles, canapés call them what you like. Everyone wants sausage rolls, and more sausage rolls! Mince pies are on offer as well as cheese and biscuits. There is plenty of crisps and dips available, chocolates, sweets and a variety of soft drinks and fresh fruit

I was wondering though what’s your Christmas morning like, what nibbles do you have, especially if you have a gang of screaming children. What do you put on the table? Remember though it is Christmas morning and everyone will clear off to their own homes to dig into their traditional family dinner.

We also have sausage rolls (Delia's recipe) but also smoked salmon. Sometimes on blinis, often just on granary bread. Also some cashew nuts & that's about it. This lot is a substitute for a starter and the nibbling lasts about 3 hours, 12-3 approximately. Children also have chocolate.
