Party Food

So its my birthday next weekend and DP has arranged for our friends to come over Sunday lunchtime. There will be a total of 14 adults, 1 of whom is a vegetarian. He will be doing the food as a former chef.

I never had a birthday party growing up so would love to do a retro feel party. Sausage rolls, cheese & pineapple on sticks, chicken drumsticks, party rings etc. I really dont want too much fuss like a roast or one pot dish. What food wouldyou serve or any more ideas for my retro party?

Oh there will be plenty of wine and prosecco for a grown up feel!

Rainbow jelly.
Cocktail sausages.
Fairy bread (hundreds and thousands in bread).
French fancies.

Jam sandwich triangles
Make sure your cheese and pineapple sticks are poking out of a hedgehog
Jelly - a big one done in a rabbit mould
Cheese footballs & twiglets

Hard boiled eggs halved, yolks mixed with mayonnaise and put back in.
Sherry trifle
Any small food on sticks, esp the cheese and pineapple hedgehog.
Anything with tinned salmon.
Pate on ritz crackers.

egg mayo and cress sandwiches, coleslaw, pasta salad, cheese and pickled onions on sticks, pizzaslices, crisps and cheese and onion rolls are a must!

If it’s Sunday Lunchtime I think I’d try to offer some more filling options alongside.
Maybe wraps filled with smoked salmon and cream cheese
Roast beef rocket and Horseradish
Grated carrot and humous etc

Homemade sausage rolls and cheese straws
Honey and mustard sticky sausages (on sticks)
Bite size puff pastry tarts
Maybe crudites and dips

Although I do appreciate this may be a step to far away from the retro theme.
In which case, little, triangular egg sandwiches
Cold Pizza
Skips, hula hoops, chopsticks
Pink wafers, chocolate fingers and party rings! Actually scrap my first suggestions, second wins hands down!
