Edible glitter - covered fruit

Hi all,

I am making some cupcakes and have some edible glitter. I want to cover some cherries like in this photo:

How do I do it? I'm assuming I can't just paint it on? Do I dip the fruit in water first? Or something else?

I don't want to cover the fruit in chocolate first, as all the guides online suggest.

Thanks!

Oooh yes that sounds promising! Thanks!

Anyone else done this? Did egg white work?

I’ve done this before and literally just dipped the cherries in the dry glitter and it ‘stuck’.
If not, any clear alcohol should work.
