Slow cooker help please! Silverside... and what to serve with?

Wondered if I could ask for cooking advice... got a 1.4kg lean silverside joint. I was going to seal it and then put in slow cooker on bed of onions and carrots and garlic. How much stock/ water/ wine should I put in? Would like a nice gravy.

Serve with mash? Peas? Do you serve Yorkshire puddings with sliced slow roast?

I'm afraid I can't advise on the meat but this horseradish dauphinois is amazing. Would also serve roasted carrots, green beans and broccoli. It's up to you on the Yorkshires but I've never known them turned down!

I've never added water or any other fluid to a slow cooked silverside, there's plenty of juices from the meat and veg. DH makes gravy with the juices, seiving the veg into it, adds a bit of Bisto and reduces (if necessary) in a pan.

Yes to mash, peas, or whatever, and definitely yes to Yorkies! Grin

Thanks for the tips! I think will try without extra liquid
And the dauphinoise looks great! Thank you both
