Topping for fruity profiteroles - not chocolate

I love profiteroles and want to serve them when we have friends over soon. Want to ring the changes, so am thinking of filling with apple & whipped cream or home made lemon curd & cream. Can't think what I would top it with instead if the traditional chocolate - any ideas please?

If lemon curd, then slivered almonds and blueberries Work beautifully. I do that with pavlova. Or if apple, maybe a caramel sauce?

I would worry that a coulis might make them soggy?

White chocolate
Passion fruit coulis
Caramel

Wow that was quick. I think coulis over the top would make it them soggy but am thinking some coulis around them on the plate. Caramel with apple filling would work - kind of toffee apple. I wondered about white chocolate with the lemon?

Caramel or toffee sauce with the apple sounds good to me!

I've just eaten one with a really tangy orange cream filling and orange fondant on top. Was lovely, thought it would be far too sweet, but just right. I think it was from m and s, not sure as my lovely mum just handed it to me to try!
