Sugar free recipes for kids

Does anyone have any nice sugar free recipes that the dc will like?

I've tried flapjacks, cheese biscuits, crumble and banana bread and they liked those.

I don't mind using a bit of honey but all the other recipes I come across ask for stevia or sweetener or random things I've never heard of or wouldn't find in my local town.

So basic and yummy recipes if you could be so kind please??

Ps we are on sugar free as one dc reacts very badly to sugar, additives, colouring etc. So even crisps, pizza, ice cream, yoghurt etc send him wild!

You could try the Deliciously Ella website - I'm pretty sure there are lots of recipes on there for treats that are made with things like dates, maple syrup etc rather than sugar

Do you have a bread maker? Make your own pizza base, you don't need to add sugar, and they're yummy homemade! You could do out by hand of course but a bread maker makes is extremely easy.

Thanks I will try that site.

I don't have a bread maker but I have a kenwood so it can knead the dough for me! Doesn't the yeast need sugar in to rise though?

Would they eat savoury muffins? No sugar need. My dc love them, I make cheese & sundried tomato ones and cheese and courgette & cheese with broccoli.

Basic recipe I use

8 oz of plain flour
5 oz grated cheese( I use a extra mature cheddar)
1 small head of broccoli, chopped
handfull of cherry tomatoes, chopped (optional)
6fl oz of milk (if dc are young you can use breast milk)
3 tablespoons of olive oil
3 teaspoons of baking powder
1 large egg, beaten

Banana ice cream! Just slice up bananas and freeze, mix with some frozen berries & natural yogurt in a food processor. You'll have to keep stopping & pushing it down with a spatula but after a few tries it becomes a lovely smooth ice cream with no sugar!

You could look up Paleo recipes? I don't follow the diet but I sometimes use recipes (especially the sweet alternative ones)

Thanks everyone I will try the savoury muffins tomorrow
Made cheese stars today but they weren't overly impressed

Banana and berry ice cream sounds fab I'll get on that now

Also thinking I might make smoothies with fresh fruit and freeze them as lollies.
