Title says it all really, and if so do you find it effective?

Just started DD1, 18 on it for IBS.
Not sure how well she'll stick to it though.
Would be interested to hear other people's views.

I did this and I had a flat stomach and normal poos from week one. Came off it after three weeks as I was feeling so drained with the white bread and low fruit/ veg everything. But the results have lasted.

Turns out I can't tolerate raw foods (was drinking kale juices and smoothies before) and now eat a very plain diet. Steamed veg and rice and fish. Kefir and unsweetened Greek yoghurt is excellent for the gut with their probiotics. Sourdough bread is ok, but no bran or high fibre needed.

I no longer have the crippling diarrhoea I used to have (5X a day) since I did fodmap. Occasionally I have bloat, but it's just because I've eaten onions or beans.

Changed my life. But I found those 'reset' three weeks hard going, being used to fresh food and lots of lentils and beans. Now I can eat them, but not too many, or I bloat a bit.

It is a fantastic way of resetting your bowel, and getting IBS to calm the f down! Try it for a few weeks, then take it easy on the fibre.

This diet was recommended to my daughter by her doctor. Don't think she stuck to it properly as she was at uni. Do you have any weekly menu ideas? May get her to do it properly while at home before she goes back. She has same symptoms (bloating, diarrhoea multiple times a day)

My sister did and it was tough but did identify her triggers (apples, peas the worst, not great with wheat but seems to be the amount of wheat so can have it in small quantities)
