Sour plums

Just that. I have a large punnet (about 1kg I think?) of ripe plums that are still sour. What can I do with them? I live alone and have been told to cut red meat so the obvious combo with pork or duck, or crumble, is less obvious. I don't really eat pudding. Should I just stew them and give it away?

I like to poach them with cinnamon, vanilla and star anise, then I have the resulting concoction as part of an overnight oats-type thing with greek yogurt, oats, chia seeds and hazelnuts or almonds.

I would roast them in the oven and have them with porridge / yoghurt / ice cream

Cooked sour fruit also works well with oily fish - like mackerel, sardines etc

I have sardines in the freezer - does griddling work?

I had a lot like that once. A bit of googling later, I chopped them up and cooked on the hob with sugar and couple of tablespoons of water...20 min later lovely homemade jam!
