Chicken and cheese crumble. It's basically a chicken pie but instead of pastry make a crumble topping as you would for a fruit crumble, but instead of sugar, chuck in a couple of handfuls of grated cheddar or similar cheese. Stick it on top of the pie filling and bake for about 40 min on 180C. My mum got the recipe off an oxo packet in the 70s and its still my all time favourite way of using up leftover roast chicken!

Agree with everything in the op (except Angel Delight which just reminds me of Guide camp and being cold and homesick) plus fish pie (has to be mash not pastry topping), cottage/shepherd's pie and chilli on jacket potato. Apple strudel (the type you buy frozen) and ice cream is my ultimate comfort dessert.

You have all reminded me of some very important ones I left out, like cottage/shepherds pie, fish pie ( with mash of course ) ooh and cheesy chips, baked camembert cheese... so many < looks down at growling stomach > my pasta bake can't cook quick enough!

And how could I forget Jacket potato, with either tuna mayo sandwich filler and spring onion, topped with grated cheese or cheesy beans.

My favourite thing to eat is a couple of vegetarian curries, rice and raita.

My comfort food though:
Tea and toasted hot cross bun
Tea and chocolate
Tea and homemade cookies (I have a theme!)

Savouries I'm struggling with as far as comfort food goes. Maybe tabbouleh? It's so fresh and zingy it makes me happy. For food hugs it's all sweets, though a bit of old cheddar on a toasted tea bun (with dried apricots in it) is very nice.

Forgot to add, cheese on toast, marmite on toast and pizza ( preferably dominos with chicken wings as a side and cookies for pud )
