Pudding for Easter Sunday lunch made out of store cupboard ingredients...

So a last minute change of plan has meant that I've got guests tomorrow for lunch. Luckily I've got a leg of lamb stashed in the freezer and can cobble together the ingredients for a roast.

However what can I do for pudding? I can't get out at all today to pick up anything to supplement what I have at home so it needs to be made from what I have in. I've got the usual eggs, butter, sugar, flour... what shall I do?!

Do you have any apples to make a crumble?
Or you could you ask one of your guests to stop off at a shop on the way and bring a cheesecake or something?
If you have coco powder or chocolate you could maybe do homemade brownies?

I have eating apples.. actually I've got loads of fruit in the freezer so I could do a crumble.

TBH we would just have eaten chocolate for pudding but I'm not sharing my egg 😉😂

Sponge and. custard. Chic sponge if you have it.
Or add jam/coconut/sultanas or whatever you have to jazz it up a bit. Plain sponge is fine though.

Bread and butter pudding with leftover hot cross buns? Add four eggs, milk, marzipan, extra sultanas, cinnamon, brown sugar and some mixed spice...squidge it all in a bowl until it's a porridge consistency-pour Into a oven proof dish, top with more sugar then bake for half an hour.

Apple/jam/any fruit crumble cake. Sponge in the bottom, then a layer of apple/jam/fruit, topped with crumble mixture and baked in one go. Serve with cream, custard or ice cream.

Do you have lemons? Lemon drizzle is easy

Victoria sandwich, jam and buttercream.
Apple pie
Apple crumble,
Apple charlotte.
Eve's pudding ? Apple in the bottom, sponge batter on top, bake. Yum.

Nuts or marzipan added to any of the above would be yummy...

The limiting thing for me is cream custard and icecream. If you don't have those, then it's a Victoria sponge, I reckon!

If you have berries & cream - pavlova?

No cream unfortunately, and the kids wanted the hot cross buns for breakfast or I would have definitely made bun pudding.

pickleme I always have to have custard in lol but I'm a bit too chunky to have cream always available

So it's defiantly going to be a crumble or fruit and sponge concoction. I'll see what I fancy in the morning, thanks everyone.
