Normally when I do steak it's just me and DH so I use a frying pan. How would you cook steak if there's too much for a frying pan?
TIA

Personally I'd avoid cooking steaks for lots of people, everyone likes it differently & it'd be a pain! Can't you cook something else? :)

I wouldn't do steaks for a crowd either.

I'd probably buy a joint instead.
I did a fillet of beef and then sliced it into steak sized slices afterwards. Not cheap but then cooking several steaks isn't either.

Otherwise you could do a few on a flat griddle that goes over two rings on the hob?

Braising steak? Cook with onions and stock for hours on end and it's bloody lovely.

How many people??
If say 6 I would have every ready part from steaks and then do the well done ones and have someone take those out while I did the medium and then the rare ones

I'm in the enviable position of having a load of steak. And friends who like steak 😄 Looking like 2 frying pans in the answer. 😄

Doh! Yes of course BBQ! I've done BBQs with the grill by the backdoor before when the weather is rubbish. Fab idea. Ta! 😄

If I had a load of steak I'd freeze it rather than attempt to cook it for a large group - freezing steak doesn't affect its flavour or texture.
If I was for bed to, I'd do one or two very thick massive steaks - start it in the pan, finish in the oven, slice and serve on a wooden chopping board.

I often cook steak for 12 or more and always on the BBQ. I cook them medium or medium rare. Get the BBQ hot to smoking and pop the room temperature steak on for 4 minutes and then flip and 4 mins on the other side. Only ever turn once. Medium Rare I do 2-3 mins each side.
