How does Aldi Irish Cream compare with Baileys?

The title says it all really! Anyone tried Aldi Irish Cream?

Yes, Ive tried it. You can tell its not Baileys but its a nice drink. Its lighter/thinner and slightly sweeter. If you put it in a dessert like cheesecake or ice cream you would struggle to tell if its genuinely Baileys or not.

I had it once and was a little disappointed even though I'd seen good comments about it. Someone gave me a bottle of Tesco's version though and I liked that, found it more like the real thing.

Our local curry house has started provided this instead of Baileys (Irish Cream on menu so no laws broken) and it is vile, too sweet and watery. Might be ok in a recipe but not to drink...

I really thought it was ok to drink, clearly I'm in a minority but I do love brown sauce on toast so maybe I'm not the best person to ask for culinary advice

I've not tried it but as an alternative I like Tesco salted caramel, usually on offer for £10.

I've tried the Aldi version of Irish Cream. I believe (still trying to block my mind) that it was made with wine and cream. Read the label, not a alternative to a whiskey based product.
