Macaroni cheese with bacon and a salad if I'm feeling good. But my DH doesn't like it, so I can't have it too often.

It depends on my mood but top three I think are...
Sea bass with pancetta, cannelini beans, spinach and anchovy sauce from a masterchef cookbook (it's really easy and delicious)

Beef rengang Thai curry

Another vote for macaroni cheese-the world's best comfort food.

ohhh yes we haven't had macaroni cheese for ages - my dh thinks he makes the world best mac and cheese so that also gives me a night off cooking Grin win win situation!

I love liver and bacon but no one else in my house will eat it so I never get it.

I taught my dh to make macaroni cheese for when I was having an off day! Mine is still better but it is lovely having someone bring you dinner when you're on the sofa feeling rotten.

Can anyone give me a foolproof recipe for mac 'n' cheese?

My favourite ever is probably sausages from a specific butchers, mash potatoes and a ton of butter and salt.

But also, thai red curry, or sticky chicken wings...

Risotto - mushroom, med veg, butternut squash, cheese and broccoli, seafood ... any kind of risotto is amazing + some roasted broccoli or other veggies yum!
Alternatives - Massaman Curry, Dim-Sum, (cheeky chinese takeaway) or a beautiful duck breast and red wine sauce x

Love a homemade lasagne when I can be bothered (not often), otherwise chilli con carne, pizza, sausage chips and beans for a throwback but my absolute guilty pleasure is chunky chicken (tinned chicken in white sauce), vol-au-vents and peas Grin

I have lots of favourite food.
I think the top 3 are (at this moment in time...)

Medium rare steak with a nice big salad.
Nigella Lawson's lamb ragú with papperdelle
Thai green curry with prawns or salmon.

Sea bass with a spinach cream sauce and some kind of fancy potatoes

In a restaurant that is.

At home, probably stuffed chicken breast.

Kedgeree but done with smoked mackerel rather than smoked haddock. Super easy, super comforting, relatively healthy. Or a warm salad of new pots, smoked mackerel, watercress and a dressing of creme fraiche/horseradish/lemon. Amazing.

Lamb keema with roti, raita and red onion salad.

Or really rare steak chips and salad

Or Nando's Blush

Impossible to choose one!

My grans roast beef dinner with all the trimmings. But if I'm cooking it would be either my beef casserole or chilli con carne. Warming comfort food.

Homemade burgers with a slice of cheddar cheese and mixed raw red and white onion, in a buttered sesame seed bun, with homemade chips. My favourite meal by a million miles.

Pizza

Chicken in slow cooker with stock, carrots and green beans. Add dumplings for the last 20 minutes. Yum.
