Underwhelmed by little oranges

Satumas used to be gorgeous, full of juice and just the right balance of tanginess and sweetness. And all the similar fruit such as tangerines, mandarins, clementines were the same. But this winter I haven't had a single little orange that's made be reach for a second. Envy

I agree.

I usually eat loads of clementines but this year I've had less than a handful of decent ones.

Dreadful this year arn't they? The best I've found are Sainsbury's tangerines. And they vary. I buy a bag a week online, some weeks they are large, glossy and lovely but one or two bags have contained small chewy non juicy ones that don't taste like tangerines at all.

And they go off quickly.

Just discovered the blood oranges are lovely at the moment - quite sharp and of course not easy to peel, but they give a lovely citrussy hit.
