I am menu planning for a party. We will be catering for 25/30 people and I think I have too much food planned. It is a communion party so I want to be organised so I can serve food within an hour as we will be out of the house from 10:30, will be getting home at approximately 1pm and everyone will not have had lunch. I am planning to cook in advance and freeze what I can and defrost the day before. I have a chest freezer and a large fridge so we are ok for space.
So for my menu
Hot food
Lunch
Roast chicken, glazed ham, Roast beef, potatoes, veg, stuffing, Yorkshire puddings and gravy.
Evening
Cocktail sausages, goujons, chips, chicken wings, garlic bread, sausage rolls, quiche, fried chicken.
Cold food
Potato salad, coleslaw, lettuce, tomato, cheese, beetroot, boiled eggs, cucumber, baby potato, tuna salad, pasta salad.
Bread, crackers, scones, breadsticks, wraps, crisps, nuts, melon, strawberries, grapes, doughnuts, blackberries, pork pies, dips
We will be having lunch at approximately 2 pm for 15 adults, 4 teenagers and 6 children and the evening will be approximately 8pm for maybe 10/15 adults, 2 teenagers and 3 children.
Is this too much food? Am I being over enthusiastic or does this seem okay?
