Eek - out of date gammon!

Argh! Discovered an unsmoked gammon joint lurking at the back of the fridge (meant to cook this last week) - use by 16 Dec

Should I risk cooking it in the Instant Pot / Oven or freezing - or just chuck it away? WWYD?

Am so annoyed with myself as I hate food waste!

If no smell it should be OK. Just make sure properly cooked.

Well it's gammon, it's laden with salt, which is a preservative. So yeah, I would, as long as it looked/smelled as it should. Chicken, no no no. Gammon, yes.

It's fine, it's cured. Unless the plastic bag is bloated, it will be fine.

Thank you all. It has been tightly vacuum sealed (just one of those Ocado wrapped joints) and the packaging does not appear to be bloated. I will give it the sniff test!

Sadly Hotmilk I had left it too long gammon was distinctly whiffy (not just a 'meaty' smell) and I decided not to chance it.
