Can anyone recommend an Indian cookery course please?

I am looking for a day course or shorter maybe as a present for a friend who likes to cook curry but is completely self taught. I say Indian but as long as its 'curry like', it could be the cuisine of another country. I am pretty flexible on location - we are central but happy to travel.

Has anyone got any recommendations or even any tips on what to look for. I have never been on anything like this and from googling the prices vary quite a bit. Thanks Smile

I went on 2 of Sahda Saeed's courses - the first and the third. There is also a DVD called SAhda's kitchen.

I found it really interesting, the only difficulty was that she learned to cook in an oral tradition, and her written recipe sheets often had mistakes.

Still using her recipes some 10 years later, and it gave me confidence to use others that hadn't worked before.

Sorry, should be Zahda. The DVD isn't on amazon, but by mail order if you google it.

Ah that sounds great. Especially giving confidence to retry recipes that hadn't worked before. I think there are basics to be adapted. That would be perfect because he's pretty good but wants to be better. Thanks
