tiramisu -- ok to make the night before, or best to do on the day?

I've never made a tiramisu, but it's a favourite of mine, any chance you could post the recipe please.

make day before if possible as it soaks up more coffee.

tiramisu (feeds 6):

make up some very strong coffee and leave to cool

4 egg yolks
2 egg whites
400g mascarpone
sponge fingers
grated dark choc
cocoa powder
150g icing sugar

  • beat egg whites until stiff
  • in another bowl, beat egg yolks with icing sugar until pale and fluffy
  • stir in add mascarpone
  • fold in egg whites
  • put a layer of sponge fingers in the bottom of a dish and splash with the cooled coffee (with booze added if you like)
  • add a layer of the mascarpone mixture, then grated choc
  • add another layer of sponge fingers then more mascarpone
  • refridgerate for min 3 hours
  • before serving dust with cocoa powder/grated choc
