I wouldn't add any to the sauce - Dh and dd prefer it without - so I make generous use of the saltmill on my serving.

Also, even if you do like salt, depends what (if any) cheese you have with it.

To taste so actually no idea, or I might use anchovies in the sauce and top with parmesan which are both salty so wouldn't add extra salt.

Passata also sometimes has added salt already - but the amount varies

I wouldn't. People can add it at the table if they want it, but there's not really a need for it and it can overpower the basil, etc that you have in tomato sauce
