We had cake for Cake Week and biscuits for Biscuit Week but need some inspiration for Bread Week.
DC would like something sweet but it can't be too fiddly as I am at work until 3.30pm.
We do have a bread maker although the 'drop things in halfway' thing is broken!
I need your ideas wise, bread making MNetters grin

There is an amazing Nigella recipe for salted caramel croissant bread and butter pudding. Super quick and easy. Let me find it...

Cakescakescakes Tue 06-Sep-16 16:13:33

Here it is. sorry its just regular caramel not salted but I suppose you could add some salt if you wanted. We eat it with ice cream. It is amazing.

I'd go for a fishfinger sandwich on homemade crusty white bread.

Womenareliketeabags Tue 06-Sep-16 16:24:34

Banana bread. NOM

NattyTile Tue 06-Sep-16 16:26:56

Does it have to be homemade?

I'd want a tear and share cheesey garlicky pull apart gooey crusty loaf myself. With tomato soup.

And then chocolate or almond croissants, or bread and butter pudding. With custard.

And then I'd want someone to roll me into bed and let me sleep until Sunday

IHaveBrilloHair Tue 06-Sep-16 16:29:32

I'm making a selection of sandwiches!

IHaveBrilloHair Tue 06-Sep-16 16:32:31

Egg mayo
Smoked salmon and cream cheese
Cheese and pickle
Ham and mustard
Peanut butter and marmite

Ooooh, lots of ideas, thank you.
I preferably want to do something homemade as this seems like a good excuse to try out some new things smile

The Nigella recipe looks amazing, I'll save that one for a cold winter's day pudding.
I might go for Kensington buns, a chocolate and marshmallow version of Chelsea buns that I was introduced to on here a few years ago.

Would anyone be up for a weekly 'What to eat for Bake Off' recipe thread?

SpaceDinosaur Tue 06-Sep-16 17:44:29

Oh hell yes I would be!!!

So far DH and I managed dinner during week one and as DH was working, my friend and I had an M&S picnic during week 2

This week I'm bloody fasting as I have a GDT the next morning so will be baking croissants to stuff my face with as soon as I'm allowed to eat again!

feetheart Tue 06-Sep-16 19:26:41

SpaceDinosaur - bad planning though croissants sounds perfect. Something I haven't attempted . . . yet. Any tips?
I've started the thread here
