Recipes for DS aged 12

After seeing a number teenage nieces and nephews struggle with cooking for themselves I thought this summer I'd get DS cooking.

He cooks a meal a week for all four of us. I'm on hand if he needs help but it is pretty much up to him to do everything from shopping to stacking the dishwasher.

The problem is that we have run to a dead end for recipes for him to cook.
So far he's made chilli, meatballs and spaghetti, meatloaf, Cornish pasties and sweet and sour chicken.

And ideas for good staple meals for him to make?

You could get him one of the Sam Stern cook books. We got DD1 one and she loved working through it. I am sure he isn't a teenager any more, but was when he put together his first book. Sam Stern

Dahl - it's easy, cheap and delicious which would be good if he goes to uni!

Spanakopita is another delicious one that tastes more tricky than it is

Sausages and mash (nothing better than a good mash!)

Soups

fajitas

Various pasta dishes
