Help,

DD2 has not beena gr8 eater since started weaning at 5mths and would only eat Jar savoury food from 6mths(my fault i was desperate for her to eat something!) now ive moved her up to lumpier jars and she refuses to entertain anything at all except yoghurts and fruit purees and sometimes cheese!!!! Because dd1 was so easy this is really bothering me and getting me upset and very stressed! everyone i talk to says its just a phase, keep trying it will pass!-but ive been trying for 4mths-help

i'd say try feeding her off your plate, things you are eating...always found ds liked it much more when i was eating it as well. also get her to pop something in your mouth, then some in hers. at this age i think they are still getting a lot from milk, so have fun with 'experiments'. she can probably eat most of what you are eating by now as long as not too hard and small (not nuts)...

DS1 point blank refused lumps until he was at least 18 months. I skipped that stage and moved straight to proper solids - breadstick, cheese, carrots etc - stuff he could hold and chew basically. The first few times he gagged a bit but I stayed with him and encouraged him and then he just loved it all!

My HV (who's a good'un) tells me this is pretty normal and not to worry.

do get advice from hv. but remember to try and make it fun. my ds is a bit fussy with food but we try and make mealtimes into an 'experience', lots of fun, laughter and eating together. good luck.

My DS (9 months) hates the lumpy food but will happily feed himself anything he can get his hands on.
It's a bit messy, especially grated cheese and apple (!), but it seems to work for us.
It's so hard not to get stressed about it, isn't it?

Yes it is incredibly hard not to get stressed out about it, but things are getting a bit better one day at a time!
