Live yogurts - good or bad for 11 mo

Have fed my ds live yogurts a couple of times and each time he has had really bad nappy rash. I don't know if this is coincidence or whether the bacteria in the yogurts is aggravating it. Any ideas/experience of this?

No experience but thought you might like to see this .

Probiotics such as yogurts are ineffective compared to prebiotics which are found in foods like leeks and bananas.

My DD3 refused to drink milk when I stopped B/F at 13 months. DD2, at the time, liked a Yakult every morning and DD3 adopted this too - but mixed in a large beaker of milk. Never noticed any dodgy nappy episodes at the time.

One adult friend reacted quite strongly when she started to eat an Activia yoghurt every day. This cleared up after a week or two though.

Reading Speedymama's link, it appears that probiotics need quite a long time before becoming effective.

I will now scuttle off to CURSE the amount of money I have spent on Yakults - although they are addictive first thing in the morning and did provide the means of getting some milk down DD3.

Thanks - that's interesting reading. I will assume it is just coincidence. If I try him with Activia again and we get a third coincidence, I will let you know.
