Smoked Danish joint- help!

Hello, my first post.
I really fancied some ham and lentil soup so have bought a small 'smoked Danish joint'. I have just rinsed it shoved it in the slow cooker with some red lentils, leek, onion and carrot.
Will this be ok or turn out horribly salty? What would you have done?
Will we be ordering takeaway for dinner tomorrow?
Any good ham and lentil soup recipes?

Thanks so much for any advice!

Hello Newchat.

I know nothing of slow cookers, but I do know a thing or two about 'smoky bacon soup (that's what I called it when I was little) as my mum's is absolutely delicious - the best ever. Sadly, there's no actual recipe as she just does stuff by eye. But she always uses ham on the bone, as she says the stock is better. Otherwise, her ingredients are the same as yours with the addition of butter beans, and potato. Oh, and some split peas too.

How did yours turn out?

Didn't see the topic area you'd posted in and expected this thread to be about something quite different! Blush

Glad to find you're not suffering the ill effects of Danish drugs and hope your soup is tasty. Grin

yes, Totoro, me too! Grin

it was the "help" that got me - I was all ready to send a rescue party to a dodgy cafe in Copenhagen to wrestle the weed out of the OPs hand Grin
