I'm trying to eat more seasonal fruit and veg and wondered whether anyone could recommend a book to help me.

Nigel's kitchen diaries is an obvious one, but any others?

hugh fernally whittingfiddlywhatsist has a seasonal book taht lists all teh months and what food to cook. I used a few of his recipes and I love his style (also have a bit of a crush - yum!)

His book was reduced in the works - I think down to five pounds but I love it because I am a bit of a hippy at heart!

I have one by Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall. Not sure what it's called and I think it's still in a packing box.

I bought it because it had "10 things to do with purple sprouting broccoli" and we are always overrun with the stuff in march...

Thanks - we don't eat meat but do eat fish - I imagine HFW is heavy on the 'I wrung it's neck' type of ingredients?

There's a new one from Abel and Cole - haven't seen it but sounds like this kind of thing...

can't you just get a list of seasonal veggies and then use any old cookbook though?

Yes Eni I could I suppose - I just wanted something a bit inspiring to see me through the chard months.

I got a really fab cookbook for xmas - Paradiso Seasons by Dennis Cotter. It's from the vegetarian Paradiso Cafe in Cork Ireland. Totally excellent and inspiring - just what we need in January!

I agree that Nigel Slaters Diaries and Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall's seasonal book is good too.

Check it out here:

It's a lovely seasonal cookbook, but is steered more towards special dishes / restaurant food rather than your one-pot every day meals, but I find that you can get ideas from recipes even if you don't make the whole thing.

Any of the Moro cookbooks are very good too - spanish / moorish cooking, lots of interesting flavours and simple dishes.
