Packed evening meal ideas

All my DS (5yrs, 7yrs and 9 yrs) now swim on a Tuesday evening. First lesson is at 4.30pm and final lesson is a 6pm. It is therefore far too early to eat before swimming and we will be back far too late for an evening meal so I want the boys to eat at the swimming pool. As the older boys have packed lunch at school I don't really want to make more sandwiches for their evening meal.

So any ideas - I did think about buying some containers to put a warm meal inside if that helps

Good idea. My DC have wide neck Thermos flasks (about £8-10 from supermarkets or Wilkos). In it they have:

chunky pasta shapes with home made tomato and veg sauce and meatballs
chicken curry with rice and peas
sausage and bean casserole
chilli and rice
Heinz Big Soup with a cheese roll on the side
chicken risotto with peas and baby corn

Or you could do home made pizzas or Cornish pasties with raw veg sticks on the side.

Could the older ones switch over to school dinners during the day?

Some good ideas thank you. We are on a tight budget at the moment so have stopped the school dinners but I did think that it might make life easier on a Tuesday!
