I've had my slow cooker for a year and I love it. It gets used 3/4 times a week but I'm running out of new things to try so, what was the last thing you made in yours?

Biogenesis sauce! Used some high quality mince and and extra tin of tomatoes and it came out beautifully!

Very easy curry (I've just had a baby)

Pack of new potatoes, jar of curry sauce, some passata, cooked for 3 or 4 hours on high. Then added a packet of frozen mixed Mediterranean veg and some blocks of frozen spinach, cooked it some more.

Served it with mini naan, Mango chutney and natural yogurt.

I'm usually more creative but these are desperate times...

A gammon joint, yesterday. I whizzed up 4 apples in the blender and poured them over the gammon, then cooked it on high for four hours. It was lovely.

Lamb shank, also from the MN cookbook - simmering away as we speak!

Also made creamed rice, very easy.

Doceodcere yep, I know how you feel! Haven't long had a baby and the slow cooker is saving me from a lifetime of takeaways and micro meals Grin

I came on here to say beef brisket too! It was beyond delicious.

The curry recipe above sounds like a great idea!

Mustard and bacon chicken

4 x chicken thighs- brown and put in slow cooker
Chop some back bacon and white part leeks, fry in a little oil until soft, then add 2tbsp flour, 3tsp whole grain mustard and half a litre of chicken stock. Put all in slow cooker, cook on low for 10 hours. Add green parts of leeks about 30mins before serving.

The curry recipe sounds lovely. I've tried the MN beef stifado but I found it very dry. I wonder what I did wrong.

Rince that sounds amazing! Will try that.

I've got a brisket in the freezer so will slow cook that over the weekend.

I just keep adding more liquid to the stifado recipe. Also found it dry the first time. More wine, more vinegar and some water thickened with corn flour is just the job for a lovely sauce.

A joint of lamb which was delicious, we used the liquid to make the gravy and it was tasty, in fact probably nicer than the lamb. We were spooning it in after dinner to use it up, husband wanted to pour some in a mug and drink it but I thought that was going too far.

I've read about people making cakes in their slow cooker but I just can't see how that could work.

I've plonked a chicken crown in mine, squeeze of lemon and some garlic and thyme.hopefully it'll be nice!

I'm doing it now!

Spicy carrot, onion and apple soup, thickened with red lentils and potato.
Slow toasted pitta breads on the side.

Got to wait for DP to arrive home - 1 1/2 hours to go - though a brandy coffee does help with the waiting Wink
