Great gift. I've owned a mincer for many years and never, ever buy ready minced meat from supermarkets. You'll be able to control the fat content of your mince, if you mix meats you can control the ratio of say beef to pork. Mince chicken or turkey. Even make your own sausages if you have the attachment.
I got one a few years ago, I haven't made as much from it as I'd hoped. I don't have enough freezer space atm and my mincer wastes at least 100g of meat every I use it. We like our burgers medium rare - so I mince my own meat for that as I feel it's safer!
