Cooking for a crowd

Please help! I am cooking for 19 on the 27th Dec. SIL is bringing a chicken curry, and I thought I'd do a lasagne that the kids will eat, but I need one more dish - preferably something I can cook in advance? Maybe something that can be eaten with rice as there'll be rice for the curry? Some kind of lamb maybe?

Have you got a slow cooker at all?

If so I'd be putting it to full use - maybe a chilli or a pulled pork. You could do a lamb hotpot?

Yes - have got a slow cooker, and a big one, but I always overcook meat in it so need a foolproof recipe! I find that casseroles are better in the oven than the slow cooker. But pulled pork or something sounds good. Actually that is a great idea, as it will free-up the oven for the lasagne and the hob for veggies. Tasty crowd-pleasing recipes?

I was going to suggest pulled pork too, nice and easy and generally a winner!

slow cooked lamb shoulder? Or maybe one of those whole salmon they sell? or you could continue the curry theme and do sweet and sour

Thanks everyone. I'd like salmon but MIL won't touch anything fishy and will complain even at the smell! I love lamb shoulder and pulled pork Might do a trial run.
