gluten free hospital treat?

I'd like to take my friend something nice for while she's in hospital.

I'd usually make some biscuits or flapjacks or something, but she's gluten free, so any ideas?

There are a few GF options available in most supermarkets, nearly everywhere does Bakewell Tarts for some reason, not that I mind!

No gluten in fruit Smile

You could bake her some gluten free cakes though- just get some Doves Farm GF flour from the free from section and more or less carry on as usual from there.

no, I'd like to cook something Smile

gf stuff is ok but I know it's not as nice. So I'm looking for a recipe that just happens to be GF, rather than using GF flour or oats or whatever.

Sorry, I should have been more specific!

Lovely meringues with cream and fruit and maybe chocolate grated on top or nice chocolate syrup.

Rice krispie cakes

Bag of large marshmallows (pink & white)
6oz butter
loads of rice krispies
cocoa to taste (if wanted - makes nice toffee ones if you don't)

Melt butter & marshmallows slowly - add cocoa then rice krispies

Just be careful if you are using ingredients from your baking cupboard and stored near the flour the cross contamination may be enough to make your friend very ill
