Snack /dinner after school for 5yr old?

Hi - not sure if this is posted in the right section but looking for advice...

My daughter, in Reception, stays at an after school club each night. They provide her with sandwiches and a pudding and drink. She also has a cooked meal at school at lunchtime. I am wondering whether or not she still should have a snack or some dinner once we are home, around 6pm? She doesn't always have milk at night (we've never given that up completely) so wondering if she should still have something to eat?

Thoughts - and suggestions of what to make for her welcome! Thank you :)

Is she hungry?

On other threads people have said that its quite normal to have a cooked meal and a sandwich meal every day. Mine (7 and 9) are ravenous when they get home from school though and a sandwich would not fill them up so I cook an evening meal. I also can't guarantee that DS2 is eating all of his school dinner.

in terms of suggestions for meals I work from home so it isn't really a problem to have something in the oven but when I worked from an office I would use the slow cooker to have something ready the minute we walked in. At this time of year it was often some sort of stew with dumplings or a jacket potato. Filling and warming.

The hot meals served in my school are tiny, portion wise - my 2 year old could and does eat a lot more than is served up so I would definitely offer something to top her up, maybe egg / beans / cheese on toast type of tea.

Thank you so much for your replies!
I started to worry after another schools website mentioned that their sandwiches provided at after school club were not a substitute for an evening meal.
She doesn't complain of being hungry, but I don't think she ever would, but when I offered her cheese and crackers one evening she ate it.
It can just be so hard to tell at times at this age I find. Thanks again for your great suggestions, the slow cooker is a fab idea too. :)

I would offer her a supper time snack. I have dds in reception and y1. They have school dinners then they either have a proper cooked meal in the evening or sandwiches etc after school and then a decent bedtime snack (depending on what after school activities we have that day).
