Can anyone please recommend:
What to freeze stuff in
Any good websites
Any "must try" recipes

Just toddler DS and I, I find fresh veg etc goes out of date before we can use it all.

Like everything apart from fish.

Batch cooking-

  • spag Bol sauce.

-Cheese sauce with bacon in (for macaroni cheese).
  • Mince with onion and gravy (to use for Spag Bol and shepherds pie).
  • Divide up Portions of meat (we usually buy packs of chicken thighs and then divide up/family pack of mince divide up).
  • I usually use freezer bags to freeze stuff in.
  • if I ever only use half a jar of something then freeze the other half.
  • veg can be frozen. I usually cook up batches of mixed veg- ie green beans and carrots.

No specific websites but pretty much most recipes can be cooked up in bulk and frozen.

Freezing fruit, esp bananas for smoothies works well. Chop and freeze citrus either for pimms or put into jugs of drinking water. Also frozen tomatoes are great for stews and pasta dishes. I freeze pretty much all veg/fruit we don't eat.
