Turkey times?!

Total brainfart here!

2 x crowns, one is 1.95kg, other is 2.05kg.

Instructions say 20-25 mins per 450gm + 20-25 mins.

That's 2.5 hours isn't it? They'll be in roasting bags so I'm not worried about them being raw but worried about them being over cooked. Seems quite a long time so help please!

I would work on the lower timings which equals 100 minutes or 1 hour 40. Test with a skewer or meat thermometer and then bake longer if necessary. You can't rescue something that is overcooked but you can always put something back in the oven if it's undercooked. FWIW I'm cooking a 2.2kg ham this morning and it will take 2 hours 15....

Thanks! It's a fan oven and because I'm using the bags I was worried it would be overdone but 1 hour and 40 plus resting time seems perfect but I will check.

We were just discussing it this morning when DP whipped out his calculator and came up with 4 and a bit hours shock to be fair, we hadn't woken up!
