Lidl Lobster- quality (not size)

I thought this might have been discussed already but had a quick search and couldn't see anything...

Has anyone tried to £5.99 lobsters at Lidl? I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for and so I am wondering what the compromise is: quality or size?

I am not worried if it is size because at this price, I'll just buy an extra one or two. But is the quality of the meat OK (i.e. not soggy, tasteless or cotton wool like in texture?).

I'm also OK with them already being cooked, because it is for a Lobster Thermidor starter so I'm just going to pull the meat out and quickly grill once sauce is on. Again, it's about the quality and if it has been really overcooked etc.

So, if you have tried them how would you describe the quality?

We had one and it was small but Tasted nice and texture was fine, no cotton wool anyway!

Isn't it that Lidl have profited from a bumper haul of Canadian lobster?

So the quality should be fine.

I admit to being a bit of a good snob about them in the past but there are certain things they are great for. Antipasti meats (not so much cheese) for example. I also love it at this time of year; lots of different nuts, all loose so you can buy what you want, nice sauces and chutney type things, fancy clementines in boxes. Bought a mushroom and truffle sauce for some sirloins the other day... OMG delish!
