I am hosting a Christmas party for adults and kids and would love some ideas for handy finger food. The only thing I know how to make are sausage rolls so need some help with more ideas!

I love little Caesar salads - cooked chicken mixed with Caesar dressing a shave of Parmesan and a crouton or two piled onto a leaf of little gem lettuce. Delicious and minimum effort!

Take a couple of flour tortilla wraps, spread with creme fraiche, add smoked salmon and a few capers or sprinkling of chives, squeeze lemon juice and roll up the tortilla, then slice into bite sized rounds. Cheaper and less faff than blinis!

Another easy idea - skewer cubes of feta onto cocktail sticks along with a black olive, cherry tomato and a basil leaf.

Mini Spanish omelettes baked in mini muffin tins/jam tart tins. Whisk up some eggs. Place some cubes of cool boiled potato, chorizo and a few peas in the tins. Pour on egg. Bake at 200 for about 10 mins.

Baked new potatoes served with a blob of sour cream and chive, or grated cheese and Branston.

Brie and cranberry on sticks as a modern version of cheese and pineapple.

Filled filo parcels - riccota and spinich, brie and cranberry sauce, ham & cheese, any filling that takes your fancy really....

Puff pastry cheese twirls - roll out the pastry, sprinkle with cheese, chopped parma ham (sparingly) and celery seeds. fold in half, brush with egg glaze and cut into thin strips (about 5mm wide). Twist them and put on a tray - you can chill them at this stage. Cook in a hot oven for about 10 minutes.

Mini toad in the hole or make plain puds and fill with roast beef and horseradish sauce.

French bread rounds (thin) - brush with olive oil, toast them. Rub with garlic and tomato. Top with anchovy or mackrel/ sardines.

Mini cheese muffins, before baking gently push a small cube of mozzarella into each one.

Puff pastry twists with Gentlemans Relish, or whole grain mustard, or piccalilli.

Large frittata bought or home made, cook, then when cold chop into cubes and put on sticks.

You can make canapé sized croutons really easily by slicing a bagel into vertically into lots of little rounds, and then spraying them with a bit of oil and putting them in a lowish oven until they go crispy.

I top them with pate and teeny bits of cornichon, or smoked mackerel or trout pate and chives.

I usually also do blinis with sour cream and that fake caviar made of herrings, and squares of wheaten bread with butter, smoked salmon and lemon.

You could do tiny Greek salads with teeny bits of feta, tomato and olives in a partly hollered out round of cucumber.

pack of dried apricots, pack of streaky bacon, some soft cheese - I use brie.

Soak the apricots, they plump up and have a nice little cut just right for stuffing, put a piece of cheese in, wrap in bacon, 1/2 a slice should do it, secure with a cocktail stick and bake for 20 mins.
