Natural yougurt - what age can babies eat it?

DD2 is 6.5 months now and have started giving her fromage frais (petit filous type)with success. Finding the flavours a bit dull - strawberry and ? and strawberry etc. Am hoping to get some plain yougurt (not sure if this is correct spelling ) and mix some homemade fruit puree in it. What age is this Ok to do and what type of yougurt - bearing in mind I would probably opt for organic? Any ideas?

also petit filou have high sugar content
WE bought an easiyo yoghurt maker and make unsweetened yoghurt into which we add peach/ apple/banana etc
DD had this from 7 mths after I read what was in supermarket yoghurts
Mums4 make sugar free baby yoghurt but its pricey

Make sure it is full fat yogurt. Other than that plain yogurt is better for them than petit filous which are full of sugar and fillers

Yeah my dd2 11 months loves just plain yogurt, i give her the fruit separately as finger food. Dd1 3.5 seeing her sis eating plain yogurt and has reverted back to eating it too - nice one, having been eating only bought flavoured ones! Amazing

I too by onken or make it - also have a easiyo yog maker.

Yeo Valley natural yog with or without fruit fine from 6mo unless problem with cows milk. Petit Filous just too sugary for tiny babies IMO.

My DD loves Onken yoghurt without anything added. I started giving it to her from about 6 - 8 months. I don't like the flavoured ones as they are so sugary.

sorry I didnt answer the queastion problem did I - I started giving my dd2 yoogurt at 5 months - it's different from milk because of the live active cultures in yogurt, it is digestible by lactose intolerant people. I know it's best to wait til 6 months tho really.
