Farewell to a kitchen

Goodbye old pal. Installed in a rush many years ago as a 'temporary fix' by a much younger, more energetic, quite optimistic version of myself. Scene of so many bleary-eyed bagels, I've-no-time-it'll-have-to-do omelettes and endless things with pasta. The place where cut fingers have been patched, newspapers analysed, friends consoled, floors scrubbed and various small children have stood on chairs to help with the washing up. Production hub for more cups of espresso than is strictly healthy and too few salads for the same reason. Painted, painted and repainted to add another few years of life to the drawers that stick and the doors that never quite fitted properly but now slapped with the culinary equivalent of a 'do not resuscitate' order and, thrilled though I am by the shiny new replacement, boy do I feel like a heel! So farewell old mate. Good times.
