Breakfast ideas for a very hungry 3 year old? Please help

I dont know what else to try. Since starting nursery in the afternoons a few weeks back dd1 just seems constantly hungry.

This morning she's eaten, a banana, a handful of raisins, a handful of grapes, 2 bowls of cereal, a cereal bar and 3 digestive biscuits. Shes also finished off her sisters bowl of cereal and her sister breakfast bar

She's not bored and is happily playing, but keeps telling me she's hungry. I've started giving her her water bottle when she says she's hungry, I was thinking she may be thirsty but its made little difference. She's begging me for lunch already with tears and I'm finding I'm making her lunch earlier and earlier every day. At the moment lunch time is around 11am.

She wakes up between 5 and 6 am and has snack time at 9/10 ish.

What can I give her to fill her up in the morning? she doesn't like porridge or weatabix or anything 'sloppy'

When she gets home from nursery its the same, I give her a snack at 4, we have dinner at 5 and she's still telling me she's hungry as I'm putting her to bed.

She's not over eating as she's very slim and putting on very little weight (the health visitor was concerned about her lack of weight last time we saw her, but her dietitian, who we no longer see, was happy so no further action was taken), so I genuinely think she's hungry.

I need some new quick and easy ideas for a filling breakfast (I'm 24 weeks pregnant with a 2 year old and a 3 year old, I really cant do fussy!) Please help!

More protein and fat will fill her up for longer - peanut butter on seeded toast, eggs, cheese, cream cheese, nutty muesli, full fat yogurts and milk are all things that help fill up my bottomless pit DS (4). He is very attached to his cereal in the morning though and I've found shreddies (2 bowls!) fill him up the most.

How about scrambled egg? Protein always seems to fill my dd up more than just carbs.

Although we have a slightly different problem, can you give her a cup of full fat milk before breakfast and before bed? It doesn't sound like she still drinks much milk on its own though?

We've switched to semi but we give DS (2) a cup of milk at 6am (and if we're lucky he goes back to sleep till 7 on that), and another cup at bedtime.

Eggy bread, blueberry muffins, beans sausage and scrambled egg. All the suggestions above are good too.

Know what you mean though, my normally fussy 6yo is eating me out of house and home at the moment.

Crumpets, muffins and potato cakes seem to fill up my DD.
I'd be hungry too if I was up at 5-6am every day. My nearly 4yo DD has to be woken each morning for pre school at 8am, and doesn't fancy food much til 10am-ish.

Could you cut back on the sugar a bit too? A cereal bar, 3 biscuits and a breakfast bar is a lot of sugar. I think the current who recommendation is that sugar should be no more than 5 percent of your daily intake.

I'd go for protein & fat.

My 2.5 year old likes poached/fried egg with beans and either new potato/toast, or boiled egg & soldiers, or veg and cheese omelette (new hit!! yey!), scrambled egg & bacon (at the weekend, nicked from Daddy), full fat greek yogurt with berries in, cheese & crackers with cucumber & tomato, all milk porridge with cream & honey on top, pot of pine nuts Hmm (I think that's a novelty thing though).

She'll have one or two of the above options each day.

Hope those give some ideas. Remember it doesn't have to be "breakfast" food. If cold meat, cheese and fruit/salad does the trick, go for it. Egg/peanut butter sandwiches? Eggy bread with beans?

I would do a couple of boiled eggs for her in the morning with toast and proper butter (or peanut butter for more protein) and full fat milk. Then her fruit.

breakfast muffins (with egg sausage and bacon) are good and can be made in advance. pancakes can also be made at the weekend and frozen. breakfast wraps can also be made and frozen.

DD1 loves a sausage or cheese sandwich or porridge for breakfast. If she has rice krispies or cornflakes she's usually looking for a second breakfast by 9am.
