I've tried the slimfast shakes and they do work if you can stick to them (boots and tesco both do an own version as well that is a lot cheaper).

After checking the ingrediants as well they are basically the same stuff as the build up things you get, but you make em up with skimmed milk rather than full fat.

Only things to be wary of - psychologically it can be difficult as you feel like you are not eating (iyswim)
Secondly you need to include your 5 pieces of fruit and veg into one meal and two snacks that can be difficult.

I find them useful as you can buy them ready made and its easier than having to prepare things. Follow the instructions on diet and everything. And if you use the powders you need to use a blender otherwise they don't dissolve properly and you get a lumpy mix.

The only problem I have really found is the feeling like you are not eating, and thats the reason I haven't stuck to them. If you can get over that it should work well.

One time, I had one of these for lunch b/c some arsehole nicked my lunch from the staff fridge and I didn't have time to go out.

BOAK!

No, I wouldn't think they work.

The problem with these types of diets is that when you stop you put weight on again really quickly and then actually end up gaining MORE weight - Yes, you do lose weight fast but it backfires when you stop.

I have tried them ( and find them very easy to use)but constantly feel hungry. It did work and I was complemented at the wedding I went to after doing it, but it is not easy by any means.

The only successful way to lose weight and keep it off for the long term is to choose a healthy eating plan (like WW) and exercise.

They do work. But you have to keep busy because you get REALLY hungry.
