Slow cooker recipes that do not need to brown meat first!

I have moved into a new place, I don't have a cooker yet. I do have a slow cooker but I broke the lid, can I use tin foil over it instead of a lid?

As I don't have a cooker I can't brown the meat first. I do have a small George Forman gill so could possibly brown the meat on there if need be?

I once cooked chicken for dd in it without browning it first and it looked weird to me Confused

How about dishes without meat? I made a lentil curry last night and have binged on it all day. It's soooo yummy. I also make lovely vegetarian sausage casseroles with sprouts and baby potatoes. Oh and fab winter soups.

I never brown the meat before it goes in the slow cooker because I'm too lazy I don't think it makes sny noticeable difference Wink

I don't brown either unless it is sausages, or I am late doing dinner and want to get it cooking faster.

Jamie Oliver doesn't brown meat and neither do I.

Sometimes I chuck meat in that says cook from frozen and just leave it for six hours with veg and some sauce or gravy. It's lovely and tastes expensive as its gone really tender. Especially good with beef.

A shoulder of pork is very good- don't brown it, just chuck it in with a can of cider over it.

I love my slow cooker!
