Bacon for a 9month old?

Is it too salty? I've put 2 small-ish rashers in a cheese sauce (no salt butter etc)& blitzed it into a lovely sauce and added mashed broccoli and leek and chopped spaghetti. It tastes seriously delicious but i'm worrying that I shouldn't have put the bacon in - is it natually too salty for a 9month old do you think? The stuff doesn't taste salty exactly, but definitely tastier than his usual fare..

I personally think bacon is too salty. But as a one off it should be ok, just give lots of water.

I probably should have explained that the 2 rashers have gone into a pot and the whole thing will probably make at least 4 portions for him. So that'd be no more than 1/4 of a small rasher per portion. I might just spoon half of it over some mashed potato or something and then he's only getting a taste.

I would not beat yourself up about it. I think if you did that all the time then it might be an issue but once in a while is fine. Did he like it?

I haven't even given it to him sandradee - it's still sitting in its pot in the kitchen. i'm quite sure he'll love it, but i think i'll just spoon a little onto some mashed potato and then he gets the taste but as little bacon as possible.

Yeah, i wouldn't beat myself up about it either. Sounds like he will be getting so little of it. Sure he will love it.

Go for it then! Just a very small amount. I was giving DS toast & marmite at 9 months (just a little tiny bit) and that is quite salty. He loved it and had no ill effects.
