making a chocolate cake what chocolate do you use cooking chocolate or normal chocolate like cadburys/galaxy????

SoupDragon Sat 27-May-06 12:53:14

Either

Or sometimes cocoa.

Cooking chocolate or very dark chocolate. Ordinary galaxy type would be sickly sweet and blah.

Cooking chocolate is just cheap choc. I dont bother with it.

Cooking chocolate is horrible - really greasy. Use proper choc - dark if it's for grown ups and milk for kids.
I use supermarket own brand, Tescos do a bar for 50p that's fine for cakes.

SoupDragon Sat 27-May-06 12:55:28

Yes - or supermarket equivalent.
