Try to make sure you eat lots of leafy green veg and red meat to boost your iron levels. Anaemia causes tiredness.

Yep my dh used to get me ready meals from m&s, beef stew and dumplings or a roast dinner in a yorkshire pudding with lots of broccolli on the side. Or he'd cook me a steak with a lot of greens, or omelette, packed full of veg.

I was low on iron with my two pregnancies, just wondered any super super foods as I'm still feeding. I fed dd1 up to when I was 3 months pregnant with dd2. Will probably feed for a bit longer so need lots of energy!Wink

dried fruit like apricots/prunes/dates are all very good for iron and easy to snack on onehanded, no prep involved!

I made myself a little pot with a mix of raw almonds, blanched peanuts, walnuts, pecans, dates, raisins, sunflower seeds and broken up bits of very dark choc (70-90%, it's really good for you, loads of iron and antioxidants and things!) for grabbing handfuls of during the day. All very good nutritious high energy things.

Like others I absolutely craved beef casseroles, always with swede and carrot in, mash on the side and a load of cabbage. DH was sick of it Grin

Not sure if it is true but I was told oats are good for your milk supply so had lots of flapjack and porridge.

Also made my own brazil nut butter by toasting some on a tray in the oven for 5 minutes, then blitzing in the food processor with some olive oil and a sprinkle of sugar and salt. You could try other nuts too. Delicious on wholemeal toast :)

Peanut butter and banana sandwich/on toast

Oh yes, I'd forgotten the sheer vast tonnes of flapjack and porridge with cream and honey that I consumed. Gorgeous.

Lots of oily fish, full of calories and all those good fish oily omega things. I love the smoked mackerel/smoked trout that you can eat straight from the packet. Really nice on oatcakes/harvestgrainy style crackers. And very wholesome with a nice salad incl some mashed avocado and a tasty dressing.
