Cooking a whole chicken in slow cooker for curry

I currently have a batch of curry sauce on the hob and a not yet defrosted chicken (which i was going to joint and cook)

If I slow cook it tomorrow when at work how long does it need to cook for?

If I slow cook it will it come off in nice big chunks that can be used in curry?

According to the sc manual the meat should be defrosted before cooking. If you plonk the chicken into the sc cooker the meat will be nice and tender but might fall off the bones(and disintegrate when lifting)
Any chance to put the defrosted chicken into sc in the morning, pour the curry sauce over it and switch it on low setting before going to work?

Yes, the chicken shuld be defrosted in the morning (and I will put the slow cooker on a timer to go on an hour later so the chicken is at rm temp).

How long do you think it needs to go in for?

Errrmmm,I have no clue Grin
Looks like your sc is more fancy then mine-mine has no timer on it.I have 3 settings-high,medium and low.I suppose it depends how long you're going to be away for and when do you want to eat.I usually put the meat on high for 4 hours,if you're going to be away let's say 8 hours then put it on low.

OP I always cook defrosted whole chicken for six hours on high. My recipe book says always to cook chicken on high. I'm not sure if I've fully understood your post but it is safer to cook raw chicken then let it stand, rather than the other way around.

Ps if I want crispy skin I do 4.5 / 5 hours on high than 30 mins in a normal oven.
